About a month ago, we had a baby dedication at church. The first couple to be announced was dedicating their little girl. My husband and I have seen this couple at church before and have even seen them dropping off their precious little girl in the nursery a few times. We've commented about how they look familiar, but never wracked our brains any further for how we might know them.
When I heard their names announced during the baby dedication, though, I realized how we knew them. We met them when their little girl was still in B's belly and Toad was in mine. They were one of the couples we met in our birthing class! How random is that!!?
So, I went up and talked with B after the service and we chatted briefly about our little ones. And, after exchanging information and a few emails, we met for breakfast this morning. The kids were pretty well behaved, B's little one moreso than Toad. But, Toad was really just being inquisitive and wanted to explore the new things on the table. I really enjoyed myself and felt sincerely blessed that God put us in the same birthing class, so that we would have a reason to chat after that baby dedication service... and now possibly become friends.
I think God knew I needed this. It is really neat to see how God continues to open doors to new friendships, and/or to deeper ones just at the right times.

That's awesome! I had a similar situation happen. I ran into a girl, through a mutual friend, when Braden was 5 months old and her daughter was 4. I thought she looked familiar but didn't say anything. Finally she said "weren't we in the same birthing class??" Now we hang out every Wednesday with a couple other moms and our kids for a picnic and last weekend had a girls night. Too fun! I love it when things like that happen.
